SUMMARY 

Destination Systems is a year-round, full-service ground transportation company dedicated to providing safe, prompt, and professional service. We provide daily scheduled, shared-ride shuttles to/from the Airport and rideshare or private vehicle services. Destination Systems also operates the local and charter service to any destination and provides all wedding and special event transportation needs. Destination Systems operates 24/7, 365. 

Wage: $55,500+ Annual DOE

 

The Driver Manager will report to the Director of Operations and Dispatch, Duties include carrying out functions pertaining to the safe, courteous, and efficient operation of assigned vehicles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordinating training dates and times with the Dispatch Manager; continuing the development and training of all drivers, coaching and ensuring drivers are abiding by all company standards, policies, and expectations; employing defensive driving techniques; maintaining professional courtesy; making public address announcements upon the direction of the Colorado General Manager properly answering questions and assisting the Director of Operations in solving concerns of passengers; and exercising prudent judgment under a variety of constantly changing operating conditions upon direction of the Colorado General Manager This is a position subject to ensuring the compliance to the rules and regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. The Driver Manager must demonstrate  and ensure excellent driving skills and good knowledge of traffic rules and regulations are being followed 
  1. The Driver Manager must be able to correctly/positively convey company policies, and monitor compliance and procedures to other drivers.. 
  1. The Driver Manager will occasionally transport passengers to and from predetermined locations in a safe and timely manner and ensure that all drivers do as well. 
  1. The Driver Manager will exemplify excellent customer service and communication skills and ensure that all drivers meet the same expectations. 
  1. The Driver manager performs a Daily Vehicle Inspection Report, through the electronic log on each vehicle to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive while driving and ensures all drivers are completing the same process. The Driver Manager will coach any opportunities not meeting expectations.    
  1. The Driver Manager will document any safety defects through Samsara (electronic logs) and to the dispatcher and ensure all drivers follow the same process.  
  1. Obeys and ensures all drivers follow all traffic rules and regulations guiding the operation of transportation services by coaching drivers and communicating memos as needed. 
  1. Adhere to the Hours of Service rules and ensure all drivers are abiding by the rules as well. 
  1. The Driver Manager must be well knowledgeable of Hudson VMDT and Samsara capabilities and is responsible for ensuring all drivers’ utilization 
  1. Working knowledge of communities and routes within the area of responsibility. 
  1. The Driver Manager will conduct all New Hire Training utilizing the LLLC program as well as conduct Pre-Season Ramp up Training sessions, Off Season Training, and any other training sessions directed by the Colorado General Manager 
  1. The Driver Manager will train and mentor Drivers, in all aspects of the driver’s responsibilities, company expectations, and procedures.  
  1. The Driver Manager will upon request coach Drivers on company expectations, procedures, and responsibilities and assist the Compliance and Regulatory Manager in documenting coaching for the Driver’s file. 
  1. The Driver Manager will assist in rating all Drivers’ performance for the annual review of the driver. 
  1. Ability to carry out special assignments assigned by the company Colorado General Manager both independently, or in a group. 
  1. The Driver Manager will work together with the Compliance and Regulatory Manager to maintain compliance with the Montrose Regional Airport regulations and RFP agreements. 
  1. Report all communications with Montrose Regional Airport Administration with Colorado General Manager. 
  1. Attend airport meetings on behalf of Telluride Express. 
  1. Maintain appropriate communication with the Director of Operations and Dispatch, Human Resources, and the Colorado General Maanager. 
  1. Completes appropriate company paperwork. 
  1. Reports accidents or other traffic disruptions and Samsara infractions and events to the Director of Operations. 
  1. Dresses in a neat and professional manner in accordance with the company dress code. 
  1. Basic math skills are required for proper documentation of work details. 
  1. Commits to scheduled shifts, with flexibility in mind for weekends and special events as well as when needed to assist in Driving Shifts. 
  1. Hours include weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays upon request from the Colorado General Manager 
  1. Review and select internal drivers for entry to the Drive America Class B CDL school. 
  1. Other duties as assigned by Colorado General Manager 

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION 

  1. High School diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent. 
  1. Preferred two years of in-house experience. 
  1. At least 23 years of age. 
  1. Positive role model and a good communicator to other staff members.  
  1. A valid regular or commercial driver’s license with 5 or fewer points on the Motor Vehicle Record. 
  1. Highly self-motivated and directed. 

 

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Receive a negative pre-employment and periodical controlled substances test result. 
  1. Qualify for a fingerprint-based criminal history record check. 
  1. Become physically qualified to drive by obtaining a Medical Examiner’s Certificate. 
  1. Ability to exert in excess of 50 lbs. constantly to move luggage. 
  1. Occasional overnight travel.
